Who Is The Current Best Rap Duo In 2018?

As of 2018, most rappers have decided to buddy-up with a fellow MC and drop collaborations. From veterans like Bad Meets Evil (Eminem and Royce da 5'9") to youngsters in the genre like Lil Baby and Gunna, duos are seeming to become a full trend now. With so many efforts being made, it's only right to decide which group is the best and has the most potential.

Before we can dissect which two are better than the others, we must set some foundation. I am limiting this list to rap duos, meaning no Migos, A$AP Mob, BROCKHAMPTON, etc. Also, this is going to be entirely subjective to my opinion, which does not have to be agreed with.

5. Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti

These two are musically yin and yang. They completely each other nicely, as you shouldn't expect a lyrical overwhelm from them. Uzi and Carti can definitely bring easy-to-digest songs for young audiences due to their fun flows and beats. My biggest issue with this duo is just how many times the adlib "what?"or "huh?" would be abused in a single song

4. Travis Scott and Quavo

I want to enjoy these guys way more than I really do. They both respectively are top dogs in the rap game and it brought people to raise the question, "I wonder what a Huncho Jack project would sound like?". When it finally dropped back in December 2017, it did not sit with fans as much as they expected. Too much of a good thing is a bad thing and this is a prime example. Personally, I find Scott to be one of the most versatile artists out now. He is at his best when he is doing a "Travis Scott vibe", not a "Huncho Jack" one. I feel like Quavo puts a proverbial cage around some of Scott's abilities, holding him down to the level of rage we expect from him.

3. Meek Mill and Tory Lanez

Though they do not collaborate as much as others, when they do they strike gold. "Lord Knows" and "Litty" are adrenaline bangers and "DrIP DrIp Drip" is a nice flip to their use formula. Mill and Lanez can easily be forgotten compared to others that produce more work together but when they surfaced, it deserves to be noticed. Rumors have surfaced about a full joint album coming from the two. I look forward to it one day.

2. Future and Drake

These guys could most likely trump the rest of the competition solely off of Drake, but that would be overkill. In addition, they probably have the most music out together. These guys made iconic tracks like "Jumpman", "Big Rings", "Used to This", this list could go on for a VERY long time. Both rappers are polarizing figures for their own hometowns and they use their star power to create a well above average group.

1. A$AP Rocky and Tyler, the Creator

On July 23, 2018, the world was blessed with "Potato Salad." Depending on who you ask, this could have been the song of the year. Imagine the tidal waves a lyrical genius from New York and wacky, zany wordsmith California native will make when the release their collaborative album. These two probably have the best chemistry out of their competitors on this list and it truly shows on songs like "Who Dat Boy" and "Telephone Calls." The potential for these guys is through the roof. Don't say I did not warn you when they cause damage to your playlists.
